Where do Grandmas Come From?

Ok, so this is my first ever blog and I will most likely be yakking about my first ever grandson. He goes by Jay-P and I have to say he is the most incredible little guy...and absolutely gorgeous, of course! Just look at this picture and tell me if you don't agree.

Jay-P is already 7 months old and it prompted me to ponder the age old question..."where do grandmas come from?" How is it that one day you have babies and the very next day, your babies have babies? Ok, ok, so it is actually 25 years, not the next day, but still, how do you wake up and turn into a grandma when you can't possibly be old enough to have a grandchild? Funny how your perspective changes and how you find yourself thinking of all those old cliches about how time flies and how youth is wasted on the young and so on...

Anyway, being a grandma completely rocks and I love it! Just to see that little face smile when he sees you and to be able to see his angelic glow when you have rocked him to sleep makes you instantly forget all the screaming he did just before the eyes finally shut. I think you have much more patience being the grandma and of course you have the wonderful feeling of shutting the door when Jay-P's little mommy takes him home and you know it will be her (not you) that has to wake up in the middle of the night and tend to him. I have put in my time, after all, and my babies don't keep me up at nights anymore!
